Supply, buybacks and burns.
MOS launched with a fixed supply of one billion and can never be minted again. Revenue buys it back and burns it, so supply only goes down.
The token.
MOS is a Solana Token-2022 mint with exactly two extensions, metadata pointer and token metadata. It has no transfer fee, no transfer hook, no permanent delegate and no confidential transfers. The mint and freeze authorities are revoked, so no one can create more MOS or freeze a holder's account.
There was no team allocation, no vesting and no pre-sale. Every unit at genesis went to the launch curve or to migration liquidity.
Launch and liquidity.
MOS launched on a single-sided Meteora bonding curve with no initial USDC. When the curve graduated it migrated into a full-range Meteora DAMM v2 MOS/USDC pool. 100% of the migrated liquidity principal is permanently locked: Mosaic can claim the trading fees that position earns, but can never withdraw the liquidity itself.
Buybacks and burns.
The buyback bucket, 4.5% of revenue, buys MOS in the official market and burns it. Burns are ordinary token burns on the Solana mint and are visible on any explorer. The site's supply bar shows the burned total read from the chain.
Buybacks run hourly and spend a bounded fraction of the available budget each time, so they are steady rather than lumpy and do not chase price. Every buyback is journaled before it is broadcast and reconciled after finality.
The strategic MOS reserve.
A separate 4.5% of revenue accumulates MOS into a protocol-owned reserve. Unlike the buyback bucket, this MOS is held rather than burned. It exists so Mosaic can provide liquidity and bridge float across chains without selling anything.
At least 80% of the reserve must sit on Solana as canonical MOS; at most 10M MOS may be floated on other chains. The reserve is operating policy and its balance is published in the economics feed.
rhMOS and supply.
rhMOS on Robinhood Chain is not new supply. Every rhMOS is backed one-to-one by MOS locked in the bridge custody account on Solana. Bridging back burns the rhMOS and unlocks the same amount. Total MOS across both chains never exceeds what exists on Solana. See Solana and Robinhood.
